Justin Timberlake : Not A Bad Thing

Say hello to my favourite morning song at the moment – Justin Timberlake’s ultra breezy, feel-good love song “Not A Bad Thing” as I was saying to a friend the other daywhen this guy gets it right, he gets it right so good and this song is a great example of his brilliance both as a songwriter and as a musician.

The pop star takes a more organic and minimal approach with his latest single compared to the other singles from his current “20/20 Experience” era. Just as Timberlake did in his epic previous single “Mirrors”  – Not A Bad Thing’s  great arrangements and production is backed up by great lyrics that just hits you if you listen closely. As much as I love me some good EDM tracks, I have to say…we need more music like this and less (dare I say) EDM. #download

I know people make promises all the time
Then they turn right around and break them
When someone cuts your heart open with a knife, and you’re bleeding
But I could be that guy to heal it over time
And I won’t stop until you believe it
‘Cause baby you’re worth it

So don’t act like it’s a bad thing to fall in love with me
‘Cause you might look around and find your dreams come true, with me
Spend all your time and your money just to find out that my love was free
So don’t act like it’s a bad thing to fall in love with me, me
It’s not a bad thing to fall in love with me, me

Now how about I’d be the last voice you hear tonight?
And every other night for the rest of the nights that there are
Every morning I just wanna see you staring back at me
‘Cause I know that’s a good place to start
