Lana Del Rey : Brooklyn Baby

Of the four songs that Lana Del Rey has dropped from her upcoming sophomore album “Ultraviolence” her latest tounge-in-cheek ode to Hipsters “Brooklyn Baby” is my favourite so far. The track is typical Del Rey – breathy vocals, 60’s type of melody and dream-like arrangements and production. What makes it better than the previous 3 tracks from “Ultraviolence” is the air of it, its got a bit more of kick and self-confident attitude. Its also nice and refreshing to hear her change it up and play with her vocals a little more in this track, “Brooklyn Baby” clocks in at just under 6 minutes yet you’re left wanting it to go on and on. Just a side note…how awesome is this photo of Lana Del Rey by Nicole Nodland?! Girl we need to shoot together. #checkitout

“My boyfriend’s in the band
He plays guitar while I sing Lou Reed
I’ve got feathers in my hair
I get down to Beat poetry
And my jazz collection’s rare
I can play most anything
I’m a Brooklyn baby
I’m a Brooklyn baby”
